Folded Fabric Christmas Ornaments

I am making these pretty folded fabric ornaments for family and a few very special quilty friends.

I saw these at a quilt show and bought one to figure out how to make them.

After making a few I did a search online and

I found a video tutorial for making these ornaments

Here is a pictorial of how I made my ornament:

I cut two circles of contrasting fabrics.

I used a 7 and 1/2 inch dessert plate for a template.

My finished ornaments are about 3 and 1/2 inches square.

I made two ornaments with the same fabrics,
one with the dark print on the top
and one with the white and gold metallic on the top.

Sandwich right sides or circles together.

With 1/4 inch foot, stitch around the edge leaving an opening to turn the fabrics right side out.

Turn and use a tool to smooth into a circle.

Press to make a crisp edge circle.

Topstitch 1/4 inch from edge.

Fold into quarters and sew two opposite centers together.

Fold one of the other sides and and stitch.

Fold last side in ad stitch.

Without cutting thread, hand press into a square.

Add a decorative button to the center
and then knot and cut thread.

Fold over corners and hand press flat.

Add a hanger to one corner using pearl cotton and tapestry needle.

Stitch up and down through fold in corner and knot thread.

Here is one of these ornaments on my Christmas Tree!

A Very Everly Christmas!

Christmas came early ...

for our grand-darling and us!

We have been to the PNW to visit our daughter and family.

We arrived well before Thanksgiving and the day after this wonderful feast,
my girl set up her Christmas tree so we could celebrate an
early Christmas with them before we flew home.

It was so much fun to see Everly playing with her new toys.

Now we are home and setting up our own tree.

May the Christmas spirit fill you with love and joy!
