My Easy Lattice Pink Charm Quilt top is done!
This is how I added the strips ...
sew
cut
match seams
To make this quilt I used ...
My squares were 4.5"
and my charm top before adding the lattice
measured 40.5" by 48.5"
To make my lattice I cut
17 strips 1.25" wide
(If my squares had been 5", I would have cut the strips 1.5")
I pieced six strips together lengthwise for the vertical lattice.
My top now measures 42" by 51,"
a good size for the baby girl.

If you decide to try this technique, I do suggest that you start small,
with a pillow or small scrap quilt before you commit a favorite fabric top
to the rotary cutter.
Have fun!
:)
Love your lattice charm quilt! It is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteThis turned out so cute! I love how it fancies up a regular charm pack quilt.
ReplyDeleteLooks great, I see you didn't switch out or turn around any of your blocks like you did with the sample, would it not have worked on the larger quilt?
ReplyDeleteMara, you are very observant. No, I did not switch around any of the strips for this one like I did in my sample block. I did "audition" a few changes with the cut sections, but I decided that I liked the clean and simple look for this top. Maybe on my next quick and Easy Lattice Charm Quilt I will play some more with the possibilities ... :) Pat
DeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteVery cool, Pat. The strips really spice it up.
ReplyDeleteNow, did this not turn out even better than you thought it would? So, sew neat and pretty too. The pattern almost reminds me of the old linoleum floors. But the never looked that good.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever way to add the lattice, Pat. You have totally inspired me!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty in pink! I love the clever way you added the lattice strips!
ReplyDeleteShe will be excited in September to snuggle it!
