Time to treasure the last blooms of summer.
It is chilly and rainy and winter is coming soon.
My nastursiums, planted by seed along the garden wall,
are still colorful.
My cosmos, also planted by seed, have been blown over by the strong winds
but they are still waving the feathery greens and pretty pink blooms.
My Arizona Sun Gaillardia have spread and this new plant is still blooming.
I love the puff balls that form when the flowers are gone.
The lavender is still putting out fragrant little purple ends.
Wherever I look I see the reminders that life renews
and beauty can be found in small things ...
... like my Grand-darling Everly's beautiful smile.
Since it is chilly outside, I have had to turn on the heat sometimes.
Nutmeg has found the small quilt folded up on the radiator
for warm and comfy cat napping.
Katniss and Maestro are nearby and are wishing
that all of you may have angels visit you this Halloween.
I am sharing today with the
where every week we pause to think about all the good things in life,
big and small.
I have been seeing lots of trick or treat for fabric signs on social media ...
I am enjoying all the fabric treats this morning on the
Fat Quarter Shop Market Finds LiveStream
so many pretty new fabrics on the way!
So much in there, I will have to watch it again later.
:) Happy Halloween Thursday! :)

I love the final flowers before winter. They try so very hard for that last splash of color. Being warm and toasty is awesome too. Happy Halloween hope it is bootiful.
ReplyDeleteHi I just found your blog via LeeAnna's post. I really love your flowers (love gardening too). Am so looking forward to looking at your quilts, I love your pumpkin wall hanging! Have a great day and waving from Pennsylvania!

ReplyDeletegrand-darling is darling and sparkles! Awe to the cats... so cozy and lovely. I want to go door to door for fabric too!
ReplyDeleteLove Everly's shirt! Comfy kitty. Pretty flowers - hanging on to the last!
ReplyDeleteNasturtiums are such great flowers! Plant them nd they don't go away. They are a boost for my gardening ego. (I have a brown thumb)
ReplyDeleteYour grand darling Everly is A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E!!!
The cats are smart. I wish I could balance myself on a warm radiator!
Lovely Grand-Darling and Flowers and Cats. I've always wanted to know about those cast iron stand up registers. My elementary school friend had them in her old house but I guess I never visited in the winter when it was on. I think they're pretty and the cat seems to enjoy being curled up on top of it. We had a rain storm Tuesday, rain all day plus a light coating of snow Wednesday and a heavy dose of snow today. My back yard has flooded so I'm praying when the snow melts it won't come up to the house. I'm also praying for an Indian Summer next week or week after so I can help the neighbor put the end cap back on their gutter because all their water is what's making my yard flood-he's elderly & hurt his knee. My flowers are dying now...we didn't have a frost this year. I still need to dig up my Canna's- I'll lose them if the ground freezes. Enjoy those flowers while you can
