Bloomtopia Stitch Along ~Fixing My Floss

I am getting ready to stitch the

I am planning to match my stitch colors to my quilt colors.

I found this lovely Seafoam Green 14 Count Aida
which is a very close match to the green textural background fabric of my quilt.
Now I am trying to pick my floss.

As a newly returned to cross stitcher, choosing floss is a challenge for me.

I had thought to use these DMC .
I picked these colors from the chart in the photo above.
They are a good match.

I also have these Classic Colorworks floss skeins
which are dyed to have slight variations in the colors.
They are also a good match.

Now I am trying to decide which to choose ...
DMC or Classic Colorworks?

The Classic Colorworks have earthy rich tones which blend well with the fabrics.
I would have to place the floss carefully to get the right shade in the right place.

The DMC is all one color so it might be easier to use.
It is also a little brighter in tone.

Which would you choose?

I always take advice into consideration when dithering over these decisions.

  2. I think the DMC would work really well with being solid colors. The fabrics and Classic Colorworks may fight each other for attention.

  3. I am really enjoying those colors of your quilt Pat. So pretty. I think I would go with the DMC floss, although both groups are lovely :) Have fun.

  4. Wish I could help you out with an educated opinion. I have tons of DMC which is my favorite, but admit I drool over dyed floss. I don't X-stitch but I love embroidery. I'm pretty sure this quilt is going to be gorgeous.
