Life in the Scrapatch (you are here)
Quarter Inch Crafter

This fun blog hop is hosted
by the wonderfully creative
Carla @ Creatin' in the Sticks

I love pumpkins and everything fall so when I saw this hop
I just had to in join the fun.

I purchased two books and this beautiful Bird Pond fabric via preorder from

Julie @ The Intrepid Thread

where I first discovered Tilda and now buy most of my Tilda Fabrics.

Julie is a joy to do business with.

I am not affiliated in any way with this shop.

I am just a very happy customer.

This fabric pumpkin pattern is from the
Sewing by Heart book.

I cut templates because I plan to make more of these.

Here are the pieces to my pumpkin.

This type of sewing is a new challenge for me.

Some of it is machine and the finishing was by hand.

I could not quite get the cute little curl in the stem but
I am very happy with this project.

I really enjoyed this process.

I love to learn new things.

I am happy that I have a finished project for you.
Life has been happening here
and I have had much more limited time for sewing and blogging lately.

My sewing is my happy place but
I have been visiting lots of doctors offices lately
and that is going to be continuing for some time.

This has caused me to cut back on my quilty commitments.

Before you go I have another project
I would like to share with you.

There is a bright orange pumpkin in this photo
so I am counting it in the hop ...

  4. Those fabrics work great together, and so fun to add a splash of color to the fall decor. Yes, I'd cut templates, too, to make a whole pumpkin patch! Sorry you are dealing with health issues - carve out your sewing/quilting time when you can!

  14. Cute, cute pumpkin, and I love the placemats. I made some fabric pumpkins using fall prints, but I just didn't like them. So that's when I made the white ones on my blog.

  27. The fabric pumpkin is adorable - it doesn't matter that the curl is the stem isn't as planned - it still looks perfect to me. I see why you made templates. Great job!

  28. What a cute scrappy fabric pumpkin!!!!! Long skinny or curly tubes are so hard to push out. And from the look of that template, I'd think it would be almost impossible. Personally, I don't often see pumpkins with curly stems but rather short and stubby.
