I Like Thursday # 48 ~ These Days

These days,
the pretty fabrics flowing through my fingers are needed more than ever to
help make me feel calm and happy.

When I typed "these days"
this lyric popped unbidden into my head ...

"Well, I'll keep on movin', movin' on
Things are bound to be improving these days
One of these days"

Want to play name that song?

This is not a happy upbeat song,
written by a singer/songwriter when he was 16,
who was not always a happy man.

But it holds on to a seed of better times in the future.

I am planting and watering that seed and hoping it will grow.

It is "I Like Thursday."

where we bloggers celebrate the good in our lives,
things that have made us smile,
our pets,
our gardens,
our creative efforts,
all the small things that bring us joy.

I have much in my life that brings me joy
and for this I am very thankful.

It is more difficult these days to celebrate them when so many are suffering.

I took a sip of my coffee and put on my fleece and went out in my yard
to look for blooms.

I got this photo of the buds on my forsythia ready to burst open
with the morning sun just starting to shine over my neighbor's fence.
It is still a bit misty in the morning dew.
I was surprised I caught the sun's rays and the colors in the mist.

It lit my heart.

I have hope.

May you be well and touched by hope today.

The song is

which reminds me not to forget to tell all the people in my life
that I love them everyday.

~ ~ ~

Update:
I did not know this when I posted his song this morning.

Jackson Browne, 71, pre-released a new song today ...

"A Little Too Soon to Say" by Jackson Browne

... recorded before he tested positive for Covoid-19.

"I want to know if you're okay.
I want to think it's going to be alright.
It's just a little soon to say."

... Jackson Browne, "A Little Too Soon to Say"

I am hopeful.

The flowers coming into bloom are really keeping me going on this end. My redbud tree is blooming, it's really a favorite, so pink and fun. I planted a bunch of flower seeds and bulbs yesterday, dahlias and zinnias and marigolds. No blooms there yet obviously, but planting things gives me hope!

I haven't listened to Jackson Browne in awhile, I'll have to check out that song while I sew this afternoon. Nothing is blooming here yet, but the sun is shining more and more and the temps are getting higher. Soon!

I don't have blooms just yet, there are a couple of trees with buds.
I don't mind at all...I have sweet online friends like you, who share their bounty with us all!

Thank you!!!

Hi Pat! Oh, that forsythia bud looks so darn pretty. I've always meant to add a forsythia bush to my yard but haven't yet. A sure sign of Spring and definitely a sign of hope. Stay healthy and safe, my friend. ~smile~ Roseanne

Glenda, you are a "no reply" blogger so I cannot answer your comment by email. The sunflower fabric is an old Clothworks fabric line, circa 2012. It has been in my stash for years. It was called "Sunfowers" and was by a designer named Leere Aldrich, I think. There is no more info than that on the selvage. I bought it locally. I cannot find any of it left online. May you find some and sew.
Thanks to all who have stopped by and left a kind word today.
May you and yours be well and safe ... <3 Pat

Your forsythia made me go and take a peek. I see bud erupting from the lilacs, and the rose of sharon.....I also saw some leaves thrusting up so I will have flowers of some sort sooner or later, what the chickens did not destroy.
