Eye of the Eagle Quilt


This is the reverse side of my


This pieced back was so easy to do.


This quilt finishes at 50" square.

To make this easy quilt you would need:


ONE  Stonehenge "Land of the Free" panel

Cut the top and bottom of the panel to make a
22.5" wide by 27" high rectangle.


2.25 yards of  Stonehenge "Stars and Stripes Eagles" in cream

Cut TWO 14" width of fabric strips for the top and bottom borders.
Subcut TWO 13" by 22.5" rectangles.

Sew on top and bottom of center panel, aligning to have the eagles flying right side up.

Cut TWO 15" by 52" by length of fabric strips for the side borders.

Sew to sides of the center, aligning the eagles right side up 

as shown below:


To quilt:


I used my walking foot and started by making a circle around the eye of the eagle and continued to quilt expanding circles around the center outward.



For my binding fabric, I used  this stripe fabric from the

Have a Latte Collection by Clothworks 


Binding Fabric:  1/2 yard

Cut SIX 2.5 strips by WOF



This quilt makes a good patriotic table quilt or wallhanging.
