Easy Peanut Butter Fudge

While taking my Pinterest break yesterday I found this easy recipe

and the taste buds said this would make a yummy summer dessert so I spent a few minutes in the kitchen to stir this together and tuck in the fridge.

I made half smooth and then half crunchy because that's the way I like it.

The prep that took the longest was shelling the roasted no-salt peanuts

I had in my peanut basket.

Of course, it would not have taken as long to get enough peanuts for add-ins
had I not snacked ... ;)

I also added crushed graham cracker crumbs to the crunchy half.

This is good, but I think next time I will dig out my 40 year old recipe for

No Bake Peanut Butter Bars

which are more similar to

The ratio of 10X sugar to peanut butter makes for a less sweet
and more peanutty taste.

Really ... I did not just have a piece of peanut butter fudge with my coffee
while I typed this morning post ... ;)

My back has been acting up so my sewing and gardening and cooking
and such this week is off to a slow start.
Not sure what I did over the weekend that put the knots in my back.
I am trying to stretch the knots out and it is helping.

In my quilty corner, Butterfly and I are finishing the binding on ...

... the pink baby sister quilt.

I use no pins or clamps when I bind a quilt.

I just roll and stitch as I go along.

I do not use a lot of pins when I sew and quilt.

Yesterday I had a reader write to me about my quilting technique ...

I do not baste, use pins or basting spray when I quilt.

I am wondering if others would be interested in a tutorial on my method.

If so, leave me a comment or drop me a email.

I love to share with other quilters.

Linking up today with

Down Home Blog Hop @ Tilly's Nest

where I enjoyed reading the links and learned why two on my hydrangeas did not bloom this year.  I cut then back too late in the fall. Now I know better.  Next year they will bloom again.

Living and learning here in the scrapatch.

Thanks for visiting!

Have a happy quilty day!

Playing with Cotton + Steel

I am saving most of this to take with me to sew with My Girl when I visit her in September,

but these fabrics are sew lovely that I have to play today!

Butterfly agrees.

Sew ... I am sewing!

I am also binding my Easy Lattice Charm Quilt today!

In the last few days, I pieced the backing.

Sandwiched and got ready to quilt ...

Katniss helped.

I quilted.

Butterfly helped.

I bought a large quilting weight cone of white

I use the 50/2 thread in 2021 exclusively for piecing.

This is the first time I have purchased online from this shop although I have bought many cones and spools from Donna in nearby quilt shows but I was out of white quilting thread and shopped online this time.
As always, her service is good and I will definitely do so again.

I usually use Superior King Tut for quilting and Aurifil for piecing, but I think I am going to be buying more Aurifil quilting cotton in the future as my machine and I are very happy with this thread.

Today I am binding my quilt!

Butterfly is helping.

So I am also sewing.

This is an "improv"  project.

It will be a table quilt.

I am trying to decide on the next border band ...

(1) ?

(2) ??

(3) ???

Katniss has no opinions and is snoozing next to my new little scrap jar'
that will only be for  Cotton + Steel.

Butterfly is no help because she is snoozing on my chair.

This mean I will be binding my quilt while I decide.

Would you like to help be decide ...

1 ... 2 ... or 3 ????

One thing I have decided is that there will be

some more easy lattice happening in this new project!

What are you working on today?

I am linking up again this morning with one of my favorite link-ups ...

Design Wall Monday @ Patchwork Times

As always there are lots of inspiring projects in the links.

Have a happy quilty day!

Stitchin' Sister Round Robin Update

Here is Debbieann's wonderful border on Gina's beautiful RR!

I love this photo.
It was held sideways so when I turned it to add the watermark
it now looks like it is a flag flying in the summer breeze!

Looking at this RR always makes me think of standing on the beach with my feet in the waves and the sea breeze blowing.
I can almost hear the gulls.

There is only one more border to be added to this lovely Round Robin
and then it will be on its way home.

Everyone on of these quilts in progress are sew lovely and so unique.

You can see all of these in progress in our album Here

One of my wonderful stitchin' sisters found a fabric that was looking for the RR that I have now in a shop near her and went shopping and sent it to me.

I <3 My Stitchin' Sisters!

Trends and Tradition

Gorgeous!

These are ...

and they are RJR quality fabrics.

Specifically, Melody Miller

I preordered.

I never preorder.

I am not trendy.

I saw this fabric and my quilty muse breathed, "Yes!

This is the photo I snapped in the dim gray light of yesterday's rain
when I took them out of the nicely packaged and promptly delivered package
from Hawthorne Threads.

The beautiful border print is

Sparkle Flower in Multi

It is has gold metallic dots and it shimmers.

These were a pre-33rd anniversary gift from my hubby when he asked me what I might like for a fabric gift.

Yesterday he brought these home and a chicken dinner.

Our anniversary was actually last Saturday ...

and ... um ...

... on that day we both "forgot" ...

My hubby had worked all day and when he got home
we did go out to dinner ... just like any other Saturday night.
That is the way love is after 33 years.
Every day together is another day that when you add together
equals a lifetime of small celebrations of life.

The quilt behind these roses is My Favorite Quilt,
perfect in all its small imperfections.

Stitched together and sometimes patched in and resewn.

I hope to make another lovely creation with my trendy new fabrics
with someone special.

The color says "aqua" but it is a soft mint green.

My daughter loves mint green and pink.

I ordered them two months ago and last week she showed me an online photo of a mint green polka dot tea set with little pink roses that she is thinking to ask for a birthday present from her hubby as she is now in time and place where she must invite the other ladies to tea.

Think I know my girl?

I showed these fabrics to her via my trendy new iPhone and I am going to pack them with me for us to play with when I go to in September
to visit my Baby Girls.

Here is my grand-darling Everly after she just got home
from her two month checkup
where she had three shots and needed a little comfort from
her best friend. Sierra looks so protective in this photo.

My granddaughter is so beautiful!

Baby Girl is 24" long and 13 lbs 10 oz now,
a big healthy happy baby.

In September I will be visiting when it is time for her four month doctor's check.

She will be just starting to be ready for a little cereal.

What fun!

Time to quilt the pink charm baby quilt .. .

Have a happy quilty day!

Stitchin' Sisters RR Update

Here is Gina's lovely flower border on Cherie's lovely basket block.

Gina does beautiful applique.

I love the way these bright and happy little flowers dance around the center!

I will be adding the fifth and final border on this beauty in a couple of months.

I already have an idea in the back of my mind for this one
but will need to wait until the next beautiful border is added
and I have received it to see what my quilty muse whispers.

With this border, Round 3 of our Round Robin is complete!

To see all our Round 3 borders and the start of Round 4

Our RR is looking wonderful!
