Mini Charm Chocolate Quiltalong

Here is my Mini Charm Chocolates Baby Quilt.

My quilt is featured today on

I love this quilt!

I started Here with these wonderful

Fragile  fabrics

and added Bella Bright Turquoise Here

from

Fat Quarter Shop

You may purchase this lovely quilt kit Here

or choose your own fabrics and follow the free video tutorial Here

The center of my quilt was made following the fun and easy pattern.
When it came time to finish my quilt top ...

I picked a few extra mini charms and sprinkled them into my border.
I used four rounds of 2.5" strips and mini charms to sew my border.

My finished quilt measures 46" by 39"

For the quilting I chose
Aurifil 5006 - a pretty light aqua.

For the quilting I used my heavy duty walking foot
and stitched easy waves for a windblown effect.
I used two layers a=of Dream Puff batting to give it extra pouf.

When it came time to bind my quilt I added ribbon tags
for baby fingers to play.

My thoughts on baby quilts are that they should be oversized,
placed on floors, on the ground at the park
and shared with furry friends.

I finished it with a two-color machine finished binding
and added an extra line of stitches in the flange
so the ribbon tabs would hold up to lots of tugging.

A tutorial is coming soon of how I make this binding.

I love this windswept backing fabric!

I love this bold and graphic fabric line!

I do not know for whom I made this quilt.

It is going into a plastic storage for the baby to come along.

A big Thank You to the wonderful people at the

Fat Quarter Shop

for another wonderful Quilt Along project!

Great quilt. I love the prints in the Fragile line, and the solid you chose is fabulous. A baby would be a lucky infant indeed to receive that quilt.

I love your mini charm Chocolate Quilt. Your extra touches are great, but I'm really intrigued with the added border. This is a great way to enlarge the quilt.

Love this quilt and how the turquoise accents the other fabrics. I agree with you about baby quilts being for use everywhere by all. Thanks for sharing.

Great quilt--I like the wavy line quilting on it. Looks like a fun pattern.

I love how you have made this quilt, for a baby with toys attached, yet the life can be extended by slipping the toys off and be enjoyed by an older child as well.

I follow you via bloglovin. I can't say I have used any of your tutorials (although you do have nice ones), I can say that I have followed your strawberry rhubarb pie recipe from a few years back. Yum! And I am looking forward to your binding tutorial for this quilt. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

I printed this pattern and would like to sew a quilt since I have been collecting (and cutting my own) mini-charms. I like how you added the loops for baby to feel and add toys. Thank you, peterstankovich@comcast.net
