Mail Call!

I received my first month BOM  from

Jan @ Sew and Sow Farm,

who has a wonderful Etsy shop,

Featherweight Quilt Company

filled with kits and supplies for EPP.

I bought some extra goodies including plastic templates and needles
to make work easier.

Jan included a cute gift, too.

I have already found some fabrics in my stash to add to the fun
and am thinking about the fabric choices and layout for my
first three blocks.

Fun ... fun ... fun!

But it has been very slow going as my hands and eyesight
are just not what they used to be.

These projects are a UFO lost in the depths my quilting galaxy.

So I will be using the glue stick basting method
that I found

from
Piece of Cake

I have joined a Featherweight Quilt Co BOM Facebook group

for sharing progress,  support and friendship.

Looking forward to receiving my first month's kit!

These are my birthday gift fabrics.
Red, buttery yellow, gray and off white ...
the colors are personal favorites.
They are so pretty!
The colors are more vibrant than the photos taken here on my gray day
in the northeast or the ones on the website may show.

Plans are to make a

I have made a cutout cardstock viewer to help me determine how to best fussy cut these fabrics for the honeycomb shape.

I learned this "view before you cut" technique from my expert
Lucy Boston block friend,

I am putting together a few block kits today to pack with me to sew on my upcoming trip to visit my daughter and grand-darling.

It will take me a long time to hand piece this quilt.

I am happy I have these beautiful fabrics to keep me inspired to keep sewing.

Happy Stitching!
