Sunday Scrappy Sewing

Sunday was a scrappy sort of day here in The Scrapatch.
While the rain dripped outside, I played inside with the pretty fabric.

Today these pretty new fabrics called to me.

These pretties are

I cut all the fabrics for a new quilt.

The I decided to do some improv sewing with some of the smallest scraps.

Soon I had this mini quilt made from the scraps from the box.

The I picked out some more scraps and sewed some more.

An hour later I had a finished an improv mini quilt.

I found a scrap piece of batting and some of my older Tula Pink scraps
for the back and binding.

This mini quilt is Quilty Kitty Approved!

What have you been sewing this weekend?

May you and yours be well and safe <3

The snow is melting.

The pretty fabrics are popping up like crocuses.

Spring is in the air.

These are the pretty fabric I have chosen for my

Fabric Magic!

There is "gold dust" sprinkled around the dandelion puffs!

Do you see it here?

I did not ... looks like gray speckles to me.

I have been looking and working with these lovely fabrics for several days now and
when I placed these two fabrics side by side to sew ...

... magic happened !

These are two different fabric lines.

The birdies are from "A Little Bird Told Me"

The dandelion puffs are from "Make a Wish"

I combined these two lines for this quilt because I wanted to add the peach and gold to my new quilt.

Did you see the message on the selvage ... "threaded with love" ?

These are quality fabrics ... :-)

My longtime readers know that I wash all fabrics except small precuts due to an allergic reaction
to the chemicals in the finishing process.

I am happy to say that these new Lewis and Irene fabrics have passed
the wash test with flying colors.

The weave is tight; the fabric thick and nice to touch;
it does not warp in the wash; shrinkage was minimal and the colors do not run

I have a serious case of fabric love going on here ... <3 <3 <3

This is a new pattern that I am developing and it started Here

It will be another free tutorial on the Bear Creek Quilting Blog

I am calling this new quilt design "Wish Catcher!"

More soon!

Just keep sewing .... :-)

A New Quilt Beginning ~ Orange or Not?

These are the main fabrics for my new project!

It is a new pattern I am designing and I am very excited about this one!

The zig zag is the fabric that has determined the palette.

The cream texture and the gray solids share the background.

This project is for the upcoming

So I am sure to be ready for the next hop, I have had to set aside my improv star quilt for a time.  I hope to be sewing again on that one soon!

Although I have started cutting and piecing ...

I am still deciding as to whether or not I will add this

? orange to the mix ?

or

? no orange ?

????

I am vexing when I should be hexing!

Anyone care to help me decide?

Opinions always appreciated and carefully considered.
