My Favorite Quilt Book

#IGQuiltFest2021

When I was teaching myself quilting, I took many books out of the library, 

read magazines and then discovered the wonderful world of quilters on the internet.

There was one book that I bought and kept by my sewing machine.

It was this book:

Quilting, The Complete Guide

by Darlene Zimmerman

I love how this book has a hard cover and a spiral binding inside so it lays flat.

It covers everything, from cutting setting triangles, with an easy chart ... 

... a how-to on mitered borders ...

... to the basics of machine quilting.

It has diagrams, charts and even photographs for every topic.

I am a very visual learner so this book is the best for me.

This is the best quilting book in my library.

I am enjoying seeing all the wonderful books in today's prompt.

Making Quilts With Angles

I like to find new ways to make angle blocks.

Like I did when I posted my 

My Easy Tumbling Blocks Tutorial Here

I made this block a few years ago.

This project recently resurfaced during my making room for my long arm 

reorganization and I want to work again on it soon.

It is not a project from the following book.

This book, though, can help with cutting the needed angles.

Cutting and sewing blocks with am angle can be intimidating.

I found a good new book that helps ... 

Quilts With an Angle by Sheila Christensen

... is everything it says it is and more. 

In April, I followed along the blog hop for this wonderful new book.

Then 

Yvonne @ Quilting Jet Girl

notified me that I was one of the winners of an ebook copy.

I am thrilled!

This book is full of good instructions for better cutting and sewing those

tricky angle quilts.

There is about four quilts in the book I want to make right now.

I am a Quilt Book Bibliophile

This the book I have dusted off for the 

Dust Off A Quilt Book Blog Hop

It was published in 1999.

I have no idea how long it has been on my shelf,

but I cannot recall ever sewing a pattern from this book. 

Like many of my quilt books I found it on 

a white elephant table at a quilt show

for a fraction of its original cost.

I love quilt books!

I usually have a stack near me and I browse and read 

all the time for ideas and just for fun.

Do you love quilt books?

Then you would love this book!

This book is a gem,

packed with 42 colorful projects and some basic quilt information

on only 175 pages.

I am down to choosing between three projects.

The blog hop is only a month away 

and I need to make a choice and get sewing.

While I am pondering my final choice I am perusing my favorite quilting sites.
