Quilting ~ Tips and Tools

It is happy quilty day.

I love to do this type of straight line quilting.

Occasionally I use a straight pin or two as guides
for filling in small open spaces like this.

I always remove the pins when I get close.

which is a wonderful variegated blend of gold and sand.
It is not metallic but almost looks it.
It is 100% cotton 40/3ply
King Tut is my favorite quilting thread
for both my long arm and regular machine.
This color is one of my favorites.

When I am quilting, I love to use these

These came in my

I never would have bought them ...

... but I love them for getting close to the fabric to snip loose threads,
The shape of the bill and handle keeps me from accidentally
cutting into the fabric in my blocks or quilt.
Sew this is a great tool.

For any place where I can use my foot to measure my lines. I do not use pins.

I do not worry about a line being slightly off.
Quilting is never going to be perfect.

Just keep

 Quilting ... Quilting ... Quilting ...

Keep those feedogs rolling ...

:-)
