It worked well, but I want my project to be easier to carry with me
to stitch wherever I happen to be.
Now
So I am trying this new method.
So far so good.

Since I am a seasonal stitcher and quilter,
I put this away during the warm weather and growing season.
It is cold here now and we had a killing frost last night.
Time to bring out the cold weather projects.

I recently changed to Aida from linen mainly because it is easier on the eyes....but I find I like it better because I can stitch in hand with it too! ;-) It must have a good amount of starch in it or something...
I usually hoop my projects just, but big projects are on frame attached to a stand.
There are some stitches which are just easier to stitch out of the hoop -- and some I find easier in the hoop. When I took the master embroidery class, they had us in and out of the hoop all the time, depending on the stitch! Your stitches are beautiful! :)
I haven't tried "stitch in hand", I don't know if it would make it easier or harder to stitch with my arthritic hands. (I still muscle through the pains...addicted to sewing!!!)
I can only stitch in hand on Aida but as I get older my hands do cramp up more so I stick to my hoops or frames. I think Q snaps are the worse for weaker hands but so many people love them. Guess one should try different methods and tools to find out what they like the most. I do love blue fabrics.
I would love to meet other cross stitchers. Is there a club nearby to Rochester, NH?
