Pincushion Parade Blog Hop ~ Day 10

Here is my Day 10 Pincushion for the

Today's host had a simple and easy and fun one.

I decided it was perfect to feature a large scale print.

Here is my basic pincushion.

It is lovely as is,but I decided to embellish

with handmade yo-yos and a button.

Here are my yo-yos.

I used the large white button to gather the center of the smaller one to make it round.

Here was the plan for the front.

Here is the back of my pincushion.

It is lovely just as it is with its small button to tuft it.

I am very happy with how this one worked up.

This is a fun month of sewing.

Catching Up With the Pincushion Parade

Here are my Pincushions on Parade for Days 1-9 of the

The Pincushion Parade was starting to pass me by,
but I am happy to say I am all caught up!

Here is today's Pincushion

Applique Heart @ Steph Jacobson Designs

I really enjoyed this one as it used up some small scraps,
mostly Handmade fabrics by Bonnie & Camille.

The raw edge applique heart is a scrap of an Amanda Herring fabric.
It is also puffy!
I tucked a ball of polyfil in just before I closed the applique.
This may be my favorite pincushion so far.

This is Day 7's Hexagon Pincushion.
I love this one, too!

The back is as pretty as the front!

I used Bonnie & Camille fabric
and Lori Holt ribbon to decorate my big safety pin jar.

When I was counting my pincushions,

Enjoying the Roses

Today was a good day to stop and enjoy the roses

and the beautiful sunshine.

My email box also enjoyed the flower fabrics from

365 Fifth Avenue Fabric Look Book

There are several lovely free patterns.

Just Marvelous

was my favorite.

Looks complex but broken down is easy sew steps.

These fabrics are starting to arrive in the shops.

Catkskill Mountains Fat Quarter Bundle @ FQS

I like the Catskill Mountain colorway and designs the best in this collection.

My mind takes funny twists sometimes and thoughts of the Catskills,
which are a recreational mountain area in New York state.
Kill, by the way, means stream or brook.
This area is not all that far from me
which I have visited ...
