No Sewing in the Scrapatch

That is my sewing machine and table and lamps ...

tucked away and under wraps in the wrong corner of my living/dining room.

The new living room floor is almost done.

That is Cassian looking perplexed because I interrupted his play

with the many cat toys that have been found under the heavy furniture

when I took this before and after photo.

The baseboard of the archway is pulled off because Mr. Scrapatch discovered that the old floor was laid after the baseboards were installed in our circa 1900 home.  So he has had to remove and cut the bottom edge of each baseboard and then repaint the baseboards in order to tuck the new flooring under them so there will be a clean, secure edge. There are many quirks in the construction in this house that we have found over the years.  So it is always a longer than planned process whenever we do home improvement projects.

The new flooring project is on temporary hold while he starts his new job and we get ready to host our family Easter in our "unrenovated" dining room.  The food will taste good and it will be good to get together and celebrate.

So, no sewing for me for a while longer.

I am continuing to play with the yarn and my crochet hooks.

This one was made with the Size 2 (2.25mm) steel crochet hook

and these small balls of crochet thread.

This is a little small for my achy hands.

So I think I will go back to using the slightly larger DK weight yarn

and no smaller than my Steel Size 0 hook.

If I was sewing, my kitties and I would be working
on my Scrappy Irish Chain Quilt ...

... and starting a new project

Remodeling always takes longer then planned, it's a fact of life! I can't wait to see your Irish chain when she's finished. The new quilt pattern looks pretty. What color should you use? How about a cobalt blue and white, sounds lovely to me. I'm glad you have your crocheting to fill your crafty need!

How neat that you getting new flooring in your circa 1900 house! It sounds like Mr. Scrapatch is a masterful carpenter. I hope you enjoy a wonderful Easter with your family. I've been admiring your beautiful yarn flowers on Instagram. I am trying not to look too hard at the links you shared. ;)

Oh,the joys of home renovation! The floors will be lovely when complete. New flooring in my sewing space and our family room is on the agenda. But thinking of moving my stash/stuff is daunting! We'll just do it one piece at a time. That's how you eat an elephant! Enjoy you Easter with family.
