DrEAMi! ~ Riley Blake Design Block Challenge
I love this fabric.
It is dreamy.
I bought this last year when it came out with no idea what I would make.
I just had to have the fabric.
It has been one of those pesky little Squirrels in my sewing room
and it has been jabbering loudly at me
since I posted about a new block challenge last week, Here

I have been seeing too many pretty blocks in my quilty feeds to resist.
so I printed the blocks and set the fabric on my cutting table,
right next to the SAHRR fabric that I am currently sewing.

I love her designs and colors.
In my stash I found a lovely, large cut of
Spring on White Blossom by Riley Blake Design
that is a good choice for a background fabric.
This is looking more and more like it is a DrEAMi that may need sewing.
Can I really tale on another project?
Am I as nutty as this little squirrel?

My DrEAMi Moment for March
The squirrels outside have been enjoying an early spring here
and have been chasing each other up and down and all around
the trees in our backyard.
My indoor quilty kitties have spent hours watching
squirrel-vision out the windows.
The quilty ideas have been squirreling around with my quilty muse.
I know you have seen a lot of this little guy on my blog this month,
but he is getting a few more posts.
On review, I realized he was very much my
"Drop Everything and Make it" project of the month.

with a squirrel running around in my head to
make them into a pillow to send to My Girl.
It feels like a long time since I visited her last December and
have been feeling far away from my daughter
who is feeling far away from family
while my SIL is serving his country overseas
and wanted to do something with her.
Somehow this lead to our writing a quilt block pattern together and
was created.
I see porgs and droids and yoda in that basket but no squirrels,
There are no squirrels in Star Wars, I guess.
Star Wars needs a squirrel critter ... maybe next series?

Adventures of a SAHASQ ~ Stay-At-Home-and Sew-Quilter
I am a SAHASQ - Stay-At-Home-and-Sew-Quilter.

Yesterday, National Quilting Day here was a stay at home and sew day,
which is a typical day for me.
It was also a stay at home and search my stash day
to find just the right fabrics for a new quilty project.
After auditioning several different colors and backgrounds ...
all of which Quilty Kitty Maestro did not approve ...
I decided it had to be yellow.
Maestro must have agreed because she decided to go watch birdievision
at the feeders outside the open south facing window.
The Clothworks Sunflowers fabrics, which is out of print, have been in my stash many years
and were purchased at my favorite local quilt shop when they went on clearance.
The shop owner actually alerted me they were going into the sale section
because she knew how much I liked the fabric line and had made a quilt with them.
There was no yardage of either of the gorgeous yellows in that fabric line by that time
so I had to do some serious stash spelunking in the darkest regions
of my fabric closet to find a yellow that was just the right color
and would play nice with the other fabrics.
I did have a few to choose from as this warm golden yellow is my favorite color.
The yellow fabric is an old line, Kaufmann Fusions 5573 and is also out of print.

The time has come to sew this stash fabric.
My quilty muse and kitties are now happy with my choices
and I am sewing.

February was a DrEAMi! Month

Even though this unplanned project may have been a set back to completing my
February OMG Goal, I am still very happy this little squirrel
distracted me from my plans.
Wonder if I will be distracted by one of these playful. pesky little critters in March.
