When Your Fabric Love is Also Book Love

I love all things Tilda <3

So I love Tone Finnanger's books.

Some of her older books are hard to find or overseas shipping or too pricey
so when I found some

I could not resist.
There are a few more titles I would have liked.
Those are for another day.

I found these books
@

Books, Books and Books!
Good Prices.
Free Worldwide Shipping!
I like :-)

This book was a fun find.
I want to make some of her soft doll and friends.
I do not have much sewing experience with this type of pattern.
Full instructions and templates in the book.
This particular book is also available Here on Amazon

I read them and pour over the patterns and dream of being able to sew some of these.

Day dreaming sweet sewing dreams today.

May you have a happy day ... :-)

I Like Thursday # 40 ~ Sweet and Bittersweet

Loving these fabrics!

Some are old and some are new to my fabric stash.

This is a new, easy and fun shortcut pattern.

All will be revealed soon ... :-)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

It is Thursday and somehow I let it slip by without visiting my friends at

I Like Thursday @ Not Afraid of Color

Not too late to be thankful for the gifts in life,
large and small.

I am thankful.

There was laughter last night when I went out to dinner with three very old friends.

There was thankfulness that we still get together to share life.

There was sharing of the things that happen in life that are not always what we planned for.

There was one more chance to say Happy New Year to each other
and to their husbands, two of whom have cancer, one of whom is in hospice.

On Saturday my hubby and I will be going to visit his family out of state
and attend the service for his oldest brother who fought the good fight against cancer
and now is at peace after one last Christmas with his youngest grand children.

I am thankful for the sweet and sometimes bittersweet in life.

I just keep sewing and giving thanks.

Goodnight, my friends <3

And Now There Are Three

Three Scrappy Nine Patch Blocks

This first block was made nine months ago and posted  Here
as the seed block for a scrappy BOM endeavor that I did not continue.
I cannot tell you why I did not make any more blocks.

For this project I pulled out this old stash of fat quarters
and a piece of yardage.
This is a vintage Fig Tree Quilts line called "Fresh Cottons."
I still love the soft and pretty colors and florals.

I liked this Nine Patch block so much it was on my wall since I made it.

I have decide to pull these fabrics out again this year for the

caught my eye.

The orphan wall flower block called out "Pick Me!"

Sew I am sewing more nine patch blocks with this stash of pretty fat quarters.

I have until January 2021 to make a  45" by 60" finished quilt to meet the challenge.

I can sew do that!

I am making 12.5" blocks.

I am thinking that after I have enough blocks for a lap size
it may suddenly become a

... like the one I made Here.
This not my grand-kitty, Pepper, who is a look-alike.
This is Mina Kitty who crossed the rainbow bridge many years ago.
Mina loved this mini version of the quilt.

Right now I am just going to keep sewing these fun and easy scrap blocks.

... and then there were four.

Midnight at the scrapatch and time for sleep.

Maybe tomorrow I will sew more 9 patch blocks.

Maybe some other pretty fabrics will say "Pick me!"

Life in the Catpatch

"Maestro here!
Mommy and I have been playing with the scraps
and sewing more Stash Buster blocks
while Daddy is working tonight."

"Mommy posted the

"Mommy said we just needed to lay out some the blocks
to see how the colors and prints might play together in a quilt,
but I take these block layout things very seriously."

"The 'paw of approval' is always needed to move forward."

"Purrrrr! Looking good,  Mommy, you may proceed with this quilt."

"Mommy, I updated your blog for you and it is after midnight in the catpatch.
Time to come and snuggle with your kitties.

Goodnight, Mewwy'all!"

OMG ~ Something New to Meet the Winter Blues 2020

Something old that will be new (for me) for the New Year.

I have decided to participate in the

A few years back I used to participate in this regularly on another site.
My track record in recent years has not been too successful.
So I will make a January goal and see how it goes.

I am also participating in the

I am combining efforts here.

My January Goal is to beat the Winter Blues by stitching something new and blue.

It just may have something to do with this piece of dark blue fabric.

Wish Me Luck.

Are you setting monthly goals for 2020?

If sew, maybe you would enjoy participating with the fun

Many, many inspiring projects in the works.
