Saturday Morning ~ Coffee & Cake Break

Last night at midnight I was just putting this cake
into the oven.

My hubby works odd hours and would not be home until the middle of the night.

It was very cold and windy here.

I could not sleep and my eyes were too tired for sewing and stitching
so I baked and cuddled with the kitties under the quilts and
watched Netflix movies on my tablet.

This is my favorite Netflix movie
Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
I have watched it many times.

The book is even better.

For fabric fun check out
Brenda Riddle's Gurnsey line for Moda Fabrics

( I might have some of this in my stash ... :-)

I snacked on one small slice when it was still warm
while I watched the end of the movie
and sent a text to my hubby to ask him to put the cooled cake into the keeper
when he came in for the night.

Then I texted goodnight and went to sleep.

This is what I found left
under the dome when I got up this morning.

My hubby must have really enjoyed his treat!

I used this trusted recipe:

Now I am going to enjoy another sliver for my coffee break this morning and
check out this year's

Rainbow Scrap Challenge

I always feel sew inspired by the scrappy goodness in the links.
I usually start a new scrap project or pick up an old one,
but I rarely keep up with weekly posts.

This year I may just cheer from the sidelines.

May you warm your home with the scent of cinnamon
and enjoy your Saturday.
