Cross Stitch ~ Weekly Update

Week 2 Challenge Done!

All set up to start Week 3 tomorrow with the

I am feeling very accomplished.

I have recently started cross stitching again after a 40 year lapse.

The fence in this pattern was challenging for me last week,
but the lettering this week felt very familiar.

I am enjoying these weekly challenges and
am hopeful that I will be able to keep up.

On to the clothesline and the first quilt on the line tomorrow.
The quilt motifs are one per week.

I can do this!

Your cross stitch is looking great. Of course, you can do this. You are inspiring me to do this again, too. It hasn't been forty years since I stitched. I bought fabric the end of January for two new projects. Call me crazy - one of them is on black. I think I can do it. I did a project on black years ago - it helps it you put a white cloth/towel under the project - then you can see the holes easier. My son is an Eagle Scout and I want to do an eagle head on black for him. Years ago I did all the steps that you go through including eagle. I wanted to put the date that he obtained each rank and his name on the cloth. When his dad divorced me, our son with with his dad and his dad took all his scout stuff from the house. I have no idea where it is. The scouts build a new office which is not far from me - I'm sure that I could go there and get the information or he could when he is home - he lives out of state now. I always wanted to put a rustic frame around it. Unfortuantely, there is not much of a border around it, so I have no idea how it will be able to be finished. I need to do that since he'll be 42 this year. I think the stitched piece may actually be in a plastic tub in the attic now. I need to find that. He's coming this weekend, so maybe that's a project for this weekend. I'm glad to see you stitching.

I recently started cross stitching again after about a 15 year hiatus. Just finished a languishing project, Holly Hobby, The Quilters. Love it! Thank you for the inspiration. I ordered this piece as well. Never stitched with 4 strands before.
