I Like Thursday # 155 ~ This is February

 Wordless Wednesday Recap

Nutmeg is enjoying birdwatching.

Did you see that the window is open and the screen is in?

This is February.

In the Northeast.

Two weeks ago the windows were frosted over with the storm windows down

trying to keep out the Arctic freeze.

There is no snow on the ground.

February is usually our snowiest month of big storms.

Opening the windows even on the south side is very unusual

and unexpected for this month of the year.

I like this lovely bit of fresh air.

Maestro is enjoying the breath of fresh air.

Katniss is enjoying the sights and sounds.

We also opened a window in the kitchen.

All the kitties but one have been constantly in the windows.

Except Cassian ...

Cassian, the stray we let in four months ago,

is enjoying being the prince on the pillow.

This bed pillow is now his favorite sleeping place.

Cassian is staying far away from the windows.

Cassian is not going anywhere near the door.

Once or twice we found him snoozing behind a chair

in the other end of the house as if he was hiding.

Cassian never hides.

Cassian walks around the house like he is prince and we are his people.

Cassian has decided we are not going to open the door and put him back outside.

Oh no, not him.

Cassian has decided being an indoor cat is a good thing.

Today is

I Like Thursday @ Not Afraid of Color

For our post this week, LeeAnna has asked us to blog about

a time when we knew someone was meant to be part of our family.

For me, it is always in the eyes.

This is Cassian's eyes a few days before we opened the door last November

and he just walked in like he belonged.

How could we not let him in and love him?

We will love you forever, Cassian, and you will be our indoor kitty.

<3

PS:  I will not be deceived by two days of balmy southern breezes.

I know a false spring in the air.

We will be putting back the storm windows

and battening down the hatches tonight

for whatever winter is still lurking.

Cassian was likely an outdoor kitten last winter.

Cassian is not so easily deceived either.

Oh Cassian has had enough thank you very much, of making it in the outside on his own. He's staying far away from the outdoors. I think that's best too, and what beauties they all are. Yes it's in the eyes, they tell the truth and show a soul
Love, LeeAnna

A little bit of spring is always welcome, but I know February is too soon for it to stay! Cassian is a beautiful cat. I think he must be thriving at your house!

We are having a very unusual to us February as well. Usually it's gorgeous, lovely and warm. But we have had snow and freezing temps on and off all month. We'll get up to 60 for a day or two, the back down to the freezing temps. So strange! Cassian is so sweet looking. I'm glad that he likes being indoors and has no desire to go back out and about. Have a great weekend.

Yes, the kitties all loved the sunny warm days. One of mine tried to escape. Unlike Cassian, he has not seen the world, and it beckons. Gotta keep an eye on my boy!

All the kitties love fresh air and watching birdies. Cassian just already had his life quota. Thank you, but no, he's good. haha! Have a great week!
