I Like Thursday # 88 ~ Why I Quilt

Photo of My Batik Layer Cake Quilt

The #IGQuiltFest2021 prompt for the day is

"Why do you quilt?"

This is something I could write volumes about,

but choosing a photo to represent what I have to say is more difficult.

My reasons are

1) I love to create.

"cre-ate  verb ... to bring (something) into existence"

2) Life is Beautiful ~ One Stitch at a Time

3)  I love fabric and color.

4) I love to make the world a warmer place, one quilt at a time.

5) I quilt because I am happy.

Today I also want to share and celebrate the creativity of this lovely young woman.

Jess is my son, Matt's, other half.

Jess taught herself to knit this winter

and loves to knit as much as I love to quilt.

Jess is already creating her own knit designs.

Jess has already opened her own small business,

Knits by Jess Faith on Etsy

Jess is a wonder woman knitter.

When I asked Jess for a certain size headband so I could wear it over my ears to keep my them warm and my hair back when I am outside in the cold, she made me this lovely headband.

I love it!

That pillow cover you made is gorgeous, upcycling or not.
How nice that Jesse found her niche in the creative arts. Her knitting is wonderful; good for her to have a shop too.
I like that definition of create.

Congratulations to Jesse and her little shop - I hope it does well for her! I relate to all of your thoughts on creating. Thanks for another fun post!

Hi,
I envy Jesse, I've wanted to learn to knit for years, but I've
tried and can't get the hang of it. I guess I've too used to
crochet hooks. I really like all reasons for quilting.
Have a great day!
