I am trying something new
on the yellow and gray baby quilt
that is in the works.
I have put tags on baby quilts before
sewn into the binding.
Here ...
and here ...
But I have never before sewn them into the blocks.
I saw the tags included in the center of the quilt here first ...
It looked like a fun addition to a baby quilt.
Sew I decide to try this idea.
I am sewing a different pattern but it includes four-patch units.
I chose to sew in the tags on twelve four patch blocks.
Because I want to make sure these do not rip out when the little fingers
start pulling at them,
I double stitched these block seams.
This quilt will be posted soon.
I am really enjoying these sunny colors.

What a great idea! Pretty colors!
WOW! That is superb. Great idea to double stitch them. I know that little ones can really yank on things. I had long hair when each of my children were born and it went into a pony tail at the nape of the neck most of the time. Hair was easily clutched by little hands and with the sweatty little hands it was a mess to get my hair out of their grasps. The bright cheery gold and black is adorable and I love the gray pups with them, too. Some parents are going to be thrilled.
That looks interesting. Looking forward to the reveal. ;^)
Cute. I love those sunny colours too.
What a great idea!! I have two grands due this summer and I need to make them each one of these!!!
Hi Pat! Thanks so much for the shoutout and I'm thrilled you ran with the idea. I looks forward to seeing the full reveal but I LOVE what I'm seeing so far. My five-week-old great-niece has no interest in those tags yet on the quilt I made, but her 17-month-old brother loves them! Either way, I know the quilt will be used. ~smile~ Roseanne
I really like the fabrics you are using for this quilt. I am a musician so I especially like the music fabric for the tags. Looking forward to the reveal.
I don't follow Roseanne's blog, but stop in on occasion. Totally missed that technique! It worked really well in the baby quilts you've made. Thanks for sharing!
