Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 9 ~ Upcycling

Good Morning and Welcome to Week 9 of my

Stitch Sew & Show Linky Party

I have been working on a new project with these fabrics

that has a time dated reveal, so I do not have much sewing to show today.

I have also been enjoying the

#IGQuiltFest2021

Today's prompt was "Upcycling."

Apparently, I do not do a lot of upcycling of materials so this idea has prompted me to think about adding more upcycling to my quilting.

I now have a project in mind and we are going to let my quilty muse ponder that one.

I do "upcycle" my seasonal pillows all year long.

I do not buy pillow forms.  I make covers for my pillows.

Here is a Halloween pillow being used as pillow form for an everyday pillow.

The back has my favorite

My biggest "upcycle" is my cutting table.

It is an antique drafting table with a cast iron base and it raises and lowers

with the large wheel on the base.

The top can also be swiveled into an upright drawing surface,

but I have never used it that way.

I have it set at a height that is comfortable for my back and I have a set of

office chairs that also adjust to height for the raised table.

I love this set-up.

I also enjoy seeing others quiters' sewing spaces.

as I have found many helpful hints to improving my happy quilty place.

I would love to see your happy sewing space, too.

:)

That is pretty clever, using a pillow for a pillow form. I just changed out my pillows from winter to spring covers. Snap closure! I need to take a look at that tutorial!

Your table is just perfect for cutting and piecing and planning!
