Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 3

Welcome to Week 3 of my

Stitch Sew & Show Linky Party,

where we are building a small community

of stitchers and quilters one link at a time.

Here is my first border for the

SAHRR ~ Border 1 Info & Linky Party Here

@ crisknits

I started this project with this orphan Star Chain Block Here

This block measured 12.5" unfinished.

My piano keys measure 2" by 3.5"

This is my plan.

The center square in the block was 3.5"

so I decided on 3.5" cornerstones in the same focus fabric.

Then I decided to add a twist to my piano keys by extending

the background fabric in the center block into the first border.

I added cut off corners to the two middle piano keys on each side.

I like the way this gave my center block an "on-point" look

even though the new border is straight 3.5" pieced strips.

My Round Robin now measures 18.5" square.

Ready for Border # 2!

This is beautiful - especially the colors - for some reason I don't think I would have put together these colors and wow, I love it. Choosing color can be a challenge for me sometimes.

I love the way your block looks with the piano keys, especially the addition of the triangles to link up to the block. It gives it a whole different, wonderful look!

Great border. Love how you added little triangles to form a square at each point of the star. Very well played. ;^)

I like the way you added the corners to those middle piano keys. Clever! This is going to be a very pretty quilt! (I completely forgot my link ups in today's post!!)
