I Like Thursday #123 ~ Celebrating Mistakes

And Then There Were Three

I have three of this little blocks done for the

The Neighborhood ~ Free Downloadable Here

There is a free Embroidery Stitch Booklet on the other stuff page

@ Crabapple Hill Studio

to help with learning the stitches.

I discovered that I have been doing a common stitch

in a "different way" all these years.

This stitching is very small and my eyes can only manage about one a day

and my stitching is my stitching.

The sketched image is less than 2" by 3."

I could have enlarged them but I like the challenge of the little blocks.

I am very happy with the how these blocks are working up.

I am thinking to search my stash soon for fabrics to go with these blocks to make a small wall quilt.

Because I am focusing on these blocks this month, I have been trying to resist all the other wonderful quilt-alongs I have been seeing online. I have been following along and enjoying the eye candy.

One of them is the Riley Blake 2022 Block Challenge

Click Here for Riley Blake 2022 Block Patterns

You can see all the amazing blocks in the making in the

Another quilt-along that I will be following is this one:

The Beautiful Day Mystery BOM by Corey Yoder

There is a sneak peek at a block in this link:  Coriander Quilts on FB

I love this fabric line but have resisted purchase as my stash overfloweth with fabrics that I love.

My quilty reading of the week ahs been this book off my shelves.

I have no idea when I acquired this book but I vaguely recall it was on a sale table and may be used. It looks like new though.

The Improv Hanbook For Modern Quilters

 by Sherri Lynn Wood

It is a wonderful book!

One of the many words of wisdom in this book is this favorite gem.

I need to remind myself every once in awhile

that there are really no mistakes in quilting.

It is all in the eye of the beholder.

I choose to have a forgiving eye.

To all my readers and my friends @

Happy Thursday!

There are so many wonderful sew alongs in progress now, tempting me to jump in! I always decide to sleep on the decision and in the morning make the relational decision to just stick with my current project. The little embroideries are so cute, happy stitching!

oh thank you for adding the neighborhood again to your blog post. i have been thinking about it but did not want to use a canvas frame. so after going to the website i find photos of them as little blocks. i can make then and use satin ribbon to hang from a small branch. love your coloring and yes stitching is stitching.

Always good to learn new things, the tiny chain stitch looks just gorgeous. Are you splitting the thread in half (three threads), it fills up the lines so nicely. I’m using two.
