Starts and Stops and Squishys

This is what I call a "Squishy."

A squishy is happy mail in the form of fabric or a fabric object.

Squishys drop unexpectedly into your life and mailbox bringing joy.

Such arrivals happen because the universe smiled and I won a swap or giveaway

or a friend sent an unexpected gift.

This time the luck of the draw came when I decided to join in the fun at the

Sew-At-Home Winter Retreat in January at the

Quilting Around the World Forum

I started (but did not finish) the Monday's Mystery ~ QATW Winter Camp

and this qualified me to enter the start "Something New" fun challenge.

I have to admit, this is the first time I have ever won a squishy just for starting a new project.

If I had won fat quarters for every project I have ever started and did not finish,

my already considerable stash would be doubled.

I start them all with intentions to finish them.

I still intend to finish them.

Here is one I have started and I do hope to finish soon.

This is the

Squares Sampler SAL ~ Pattern 4 ~ Vertical Ribs

and I am finding this a difficult pattern stitch.

I keep having to pull out my work because those vertical ribs slant have started to slant after a few rows. I am working on it.

Hope to have a nice square finished block soon.

That will bring a smile to my face, too.

May your day be filled with smiles ... :)

Congratulations on your winning. Those are lovely fabrics too. The pink square looks very complicated to make but it sure looks good from here. ;^)
